Here is what you can
do:
● Help your son/daughter with this task by
accepting his/her desire to participate. It does not matter if he/she does
not know where to start or if there are not many people to call on for
support.
● Your child is your first concern, and if he/she is not outgoing
enough to ask many people for dedications - that's ok. He will go about it
at his own pace. All he may need is a gentle reminder, not a push.
● Prepare a list of people who he can comfortably ask for
dedications. Do not let your child walk the neighborhood by himself. If he
would like to pair up with a friend that's great, but have an adult
waiting nearby at all times.
● Remember to bring sign up sheets to your colleagues at work,
your church, club or other organization. Email your family and friends and
think about upcoming birthdays or other occasions where you might want to
honor someone dear with a dedication.
● Be excited about this wonderful activity where people can
show their love and appreciation towards each other. Make sure to dedicate
beads to your children!
Your school will select a group
of beads that match your school colors, school spirit or a theme to make it
really special.
