Out of Africa
The beads on this panel are combined to
evoke a sense of different northern and central African countries and their manifold
magnificent cultures.
As there are sand cast beads, various
trade beads and three very large ornate beads from northern Africa, the
overall feel of this section should not only be reminiscent of Africa, but
also celebrate the incredibly diversified art forms it has brought forth.
So many countries on this vast continent
are enduring hardships brought upon by civil unrest, starvation, drought,
disease and corruption. Let this world be aware of the fact that there are
significant differences in heritage and traditions there, which are
waiting yet to be mediated to ensure successful cohabitation.
Please support all efforts to bring
peaceful living and life sustaining necessities to Africa's people. So
much wisdom and kindness and cultural treasures have already been given to
us by countless Africans, that we should feel compelled to at least return
the favor.
Once these beads have been dedicated,
you will be able to find the dedications in the Journal.
