Jack had been a good friend and great teacher in the Gem- and Mineral Society of the Palm Beaches. It was Jack who generously provided exhibiting space for the very first event with the Neverending Necklace.

During these gem shows he would demonstrate how to make lamp work beads, and many of the visitors were fascinated not only by his talent but his friendly manner and untiring patience with the younger crowd.

When it comes to gems, minerals, rocks and jewelry, Jack is truly one of all trades. He proved to be a steady rock himself for all members of the Gem Society, and he and his family are still warmly remembered and loved, although several states away from his new home.

Jack's trademark hat will always be missed at the gem shows and so will be his giving nature and cheerfully shared knowledge.
